Best musical moment 2010: Jennifer Higdon (NPR) unsung heroes

This week we ask eminent musicians - and you, too - to tell us a story about the best musical time in 2010.

I will be never fooled April 12 in the same way.  The day that I learned when I die, it is guaranteed that my obituary will be included in the New York Times.

This afternoon, at approximately 3: 15, I have the phone call. I had was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for my Violin Concerto.  Suddenly, I was not anonymous more.

What is one word to say at a time?  After the initial twitch of adrenaline, I realized I was going to do to reach some sort of coherent statement (members of the press have been decreasing in droves) in what was probably the least consistent time in my life.  But what a wonderful problem to do!

Talking to near death and watch life go as a film.  That happened to me, in a sense, because win a Pulitzer Prize caused me stop and think about all the people that I had learned on my 12th at 3: 15-sur-April - travel.

Violin Concerto: III. Fly future (Hilary Hahn, the Orchestre Royal Liverpool)

The truth is, these good people are heroes ignored in all our lives.  I have pondered the parade of persons who supplied light on my way: each band Director (the brave souls who learn how to play and suffer in turn by a cacophony of tortured rendered musical), each teacher College theory and more fundamental solfege and flute teacher listened to millions of images directory and buckets of studies.  The comrades who stayed until late in the night cards to play, eat pizza and discuss the meaning of life (we chip, then make sure that we knew everything).

With good number of those interviews that I've done post-avril 12, I had the chance to recognize these people.  The best part of win a Pulitzer Prize is the fact that so many of my fellow travelers was so excited and thought that it was a thrill glow.

Obituary thereby has been repeatedly cited for me.  It is perhaps a good thing to get laughs.  Because the events like this are memorable, and it is important to pay attention to a film credits roll at the end of your life and see how many people have actually contributed to the rich tapestry that is.

Tell us about your best musical moment of 2010 in the comments section.
